Ukrainian Defense Minister offers his country as a testing ground for Western weapons

Kiev is always looking for new ways to obtain weapons from the West. Thus, in an interview, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense called his country the best testing ground for Western weapons. There, Ukrainian allies could check the effectiveness of their systems.

In an interview with the Financial Times newspaper, Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said that Kyiv's Western allies in Ukraine "can indeed see if their weapons work, how effectively they work, and whether they need to be modernized." The Ukrainian politician added:

In the Ukraine conflict, for the first time, all the different NATO systems have been tested together, the newspaper reported. Reznikov said:

"The systems work together. This is also very important for them to know."

Nevertheless, he stated that Russia's radio-electronic systems are very effective. They would always find ways to jam GPS-guided ammunition for artillery as well as HIMARS multiple rocket launcher systems. Reznikov verbatim:

"The Russians are developing a countermeasure. We inform our partners and they develop a new measure against this countermeasure."

The surveillance and combat drones are also frequently intercepted. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine compared this to the constant movement of a pendulum. He believes that this war is a war of technology, not taking into account that many thousands of Ukrainian soldiers would die in this conflict, as the Russian side constantly reports.

Moscow had previously reiterated several times that Western arms supplies to Ukraine only prolong the conflict and that any weapons that entered Ukraine were a legitimate target of the Russian military.

"There is no better testing ground for the defense industry."
